In the neon-lit streets of Mumbai and Pune, we are lucky if we see even a handful of stars. The "Great Filter" of city smog and light pollution has hidden the universe from our eyes.
But just a few hours' drive away, nestled in the shadows of the Sahyadri mountains, Junnar offers a window into the cosmos. Here, the nights aren't just dark—they are dazzling.
At Fulgulab Lawns & Home Stays, we believe the best show isn’t on a screen; it’s right above your head. Here is why Junnar is becoming the "Dark Sky" capital for weekend travelers.
1. The GMRT Connection Junnar
Did you know that Junnar (specifically Khodad) was chosen as the site for the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT)? Scientists chose this region because it has low "radio noise" and incredibly clear atmospheric conditions. If it's good enough for world-class astronomers to study distant galaxies, it’s perfect for you to spot the Milky Way!

A Canvas for Astrophotography
Whether you are a professional with a DSLR or a hobbyist with a smartphone, Junnar’s night sky is a dream.
The Backdrop: Imagine capturing the silhouette of Shivneri Fort or the calm waters of Pimpalgaon Joga Dam under a blanket of stars.
Zero Pollution: Away from the highway lights, the air at Fulgulab Lawns is crisp and clear, allowing for long-exposure shots that reveal the "dust" of our galaxy.
The Fulgulab "Starlit" Experience
We’ve designed Fulgulab Lawns & Home Stays to be a sanctuary for those who love the night.
Wide Open Spaces: Our lawns provide an unobstructed 360-degree view of the horizon, far from the glare of streetlamps.
Midnight Tea: What’s a stargazing session without a warm cup of local tea? We provide the comfort so you can focus on the sky.
Safe & Quiet: Enjoy the thrill of the dark with the security and hospitality of a home stay.

When to Visit for the Best Skies?
Winter (November – February): The clearest skies with the least amount of moisture. This is the prime time for stargazing.
Pre-Monsoon (May – June): If you're lucky, you can see the sky change dramatically, and you might even spot some early-season fireflies in the nearby fields!
